After Calling Jilla & Veeram as Flops, Producer Council President names the two successful movies of 2014

Producer Council's President Keyar who openly called Jilla and Veeram as big flops has now revealed that there were only two films till date in year 2014 which have been successful.

Keyar who earlier said Goli Soda was the first profitable movie of the year 2014 revealed recently that Thegidi is the second successful movie of the year. Keyar also added that the second week collections of Thegidi is better than first week and this is something very rare in today's cinema.

Keyar also said the reason for Thegidi's success was the positive word of mouth from the general public and small and smart films were the order of the day.

After Calling Jilla & Veeram as Flops, Keyar now hits out against Actors !

Keyar, The head of Tamil Films Producer Council who recently called Vijay's Jilla and Ajith's Veeram as flops has now hit out against some Kollywood actors. Keyar who spoke at the Snehavin Kadhalargal audio launch said there are some actors in the industry who without understanding reality demand huge pay cheques.

Keyar however did not reveal the names of the actors, He blasted out at the actors stating they didn't even care for the producers and added there were even some actors who aren't aware of anything that's happening in the outside world. He went to add that those actors don't even know how to book train tickets or find their way to Airport but these actor just make it a point to increase their salary alone.

Keyar also recalled an incident where a director approached a popular actor to act in his movie and after hearing the story the actor gave his nod saying the story was fantastic and will commence the movie soon, The director however said to the actor that Sir a movie with the same story had just released last month and flopped tremendously. Keyar said this incident just showed how aware today's actors are in the current world.

Pongal 2014 will always be remembered for the epic Thala Vs Thalapathy Clash where both the movies Jilla and Veeram went on to be huge blockbusters despite the mixed reviews. But Producer's Council President Keyar has just shocked the K'town industry declaring both the films as big flops as distributors have suffered huge losses.

Keyar said the movie bosses have fooled media and public as the actual figures of Jilla and Veeram would totally shock the world. He went to say that the media reported wrong information about the movies collection without cross checking and analysing it. He also took a potshot at a leading and reliable critic and trader stating he wrote a total baseless box office report chart regarding Jilla and Veeram.

Keyar then went on add that Goli Soda is the only commercial movie released in the year 2014 that's has earned profits for everybody involved in the movie.

Producers are being Blackmailed says President of Producer's Council

Keyar, the President of the Producer's council addressed a burning issue in our industry at the audio launch of Ennamo Nadakkadhu. Keyar said there were namely three associations - Producers Council, Producer's council Guild and the Film Chamber of Commerce to register movie titles. 

Some people are registering titles at the Guild and Chamber of Commerce because charges are less there and then after registering the title, they wait fo the right oppurtunity to create an issue over the title being similar to their and use it to blackmail money from the big producers. For example incase of Ivan Vera Mathiri just days before release of this movie, some group registered a title Ivan Oru Mathiri to blackmail the producers for a sum of 7-8 lakhs to change the title.

This situation should change and proper regulations must be made said Keyar. he also added that they are working on joint action committee to sort out of the issue.

Producer Council President's Controversial Comment on Irandam Ulagam

Selvaraghavan's much anticipated Irandam Ulagam is definitely the most debated topic in Kollywood currently, Never as a movie got such extreme comments, while some are praising the movie for visual extravaganza others are thrashing the movie for its poor storyline and execution.

Tamil Film's Producer Council President Keyar also jumped on the Irandam Ulagam bandwagon with a controversial comment. Keyar who attended the audio and trailer launch of Madha Yanaai Kootam said recently a corporate produced a film worth of 66 crores(The Total budget of Irandam Ulagam) but instead of doing such films they can probably give more chance to newcomers. Keyar also added that the Producer's council will start regulating the production methodology of Corporates in Tamil Cinema.
