The Tamil experience

Too good! I absolutely love it in Kollywood. It is a well-known fact that cinema is a major part of Tamil audiences' life. They are quite upfront when it comes to positive or negative feedback. I remember an instance where a guy came to see me while I was shooting for Pandiya Nadu. We were inside a temple in Kumbakonam. I was bewildered to see this person being super ecstatic upon seeing me. He jumped, galloped and did quite a few crazy things and was sweating profusely as I offered him a hand shake! Similarly, once a marine engineer came to meet me at the hotel I stayed in Chennai. Apparently, his mobile phone and room are full of my pictures! It is great to have such fans and I'm more than glad.

Being a bold, mature actress

I feel that unlike in the past, children these days are a lot more mature to handle their life. It's not just me, but even my friends are like that. Especially since I am part of such an industry, maturity and boldness to understand situations and stand by your decisions come over naturally.

The lip-lock with Vishal in Naan Sigappu Manithan

When the film's director Thiru Sir narrated the script, I understood it is an important sequence. I took it very professionally and had no problem shooting it. I am someone who is addicted to acting, and to do justice to a role of substance, I do not mind acting such scenes.

Your much-talked about cheek scar

It is on my left cheek and appeared after a schoolmate pushed me down. I am happy that the Tamil industry considers it a sign of luck! I am generally in favour of actors taking extra steps to augment their looks for films, but personally I am a lazy teenager who does nothing of that sort.

The parallel student life

I am doing my Plus One in Kochi. I was an extremely studious kid until Class VIII. Once films happened, studies took a backseat. However, I have no plans to give up studies completely for films. My dream is to pursue a bachelor's degree in English literature in Maharaja's College, Kochi. If time permits, I also want to try a hand at Civil Services.

Actor Siddharth's comment on your quick grasping power

My plus point is that I can connect with what the director wants, quite fast. I am happy for that comment from Siddharth Sir. I also like singing; my grandmother is a music teacher. I might try a hand at playback singing as well soon, though the details cannot be divulged now.

Will you do an item number?

As a viewer, I definitely enjoy item numbers. However, I am not comfortable wearing revealing clothes, as I feel they don't suit my body type. I make clear specifications about my dress code before signing any film.

What did Vishal do to protect Vishnu from getting Arrested ?

At yesterday's Naan Sigappu Manithan audio launch, Vishnu Vishal trolled Vishal publicly. Here is the intresting incident 

Actor Vishnu Vishal of Neer Paravai fame while speaking at the audio launch trolled Vishal for not allowing him to see Lakshmi Menon during the shoots of NSM and also added Vishal would invite him to the sets only when Lakshmi Menon was absent, Vishnu openly demanded a reply from Vishal on why he did this ?

Vishal did give an answer to Vishnu stating He wasn't protecting Lakshmi Menon but instead he was protecting Vishnu from getting arrested by his own father who is a Police Officer, Vishal comically said he knew about Vishnu and hence protected him from seeing Lakshmi Menon to avoid unwanted issues.

Siddharth Says Lakshmi Menon is Weak in Studies and Needs Tuition !

Actor Siddharth was at his humorous best once again at the Jigarthanda Press conference where the lead heroine Lakshmi Menon left half-way to prepare for her 11std annual exams. Sid said "Lakshmi is an excellent actress who can come up with the exact expression director Karthik Subbaraj wants, the moment he says action. However, occasionally, she embarrasses us by admitting that she is a school student. Also, it seems she is a little weak in studies as she has been claiming to be in the eleventh standard for over a year and a half now. Looks like we need to arrange some tuitions for her," he added with a wicked grin.

Siddharth also took a jibe at Karthik Subbaraj's script narration saying "He's a brilliant director who can make great films and I am delighted with the work he has done in this film but I don't think there is anybody who can outdo him when it comes to goofing up while narrating a script to a producer. That is exactly why this film's producer asked him to provide his script after he finished listening to Karthik's narration."

Actress Lakshmi Menon participated in the Jigarthanda pressmeet which was held yesterday, The actress active participation made up for her absence in the audio launch due to her plus one exams. Lakshmi Menon was quizzed on the famous lip lock scenes in the upcoming Naan Sigappu Manithan movie, The actress said "The Director Thiru clearly briefed me on the lip scenes and i understood it was very much needed for the script and hence i said yes. There was no reason for me to hide such Lip lock news, Yes there are some lip lock scenes in the movie said Lakshmi Menon."

When asked on the number of the kiss scenes in the movie, Lakshmi said "The number of kisses are secret and she won't reveal it now". In regard to the rumors whether she was in love with Vishal, Lakshmi Said Vishal was just a good friend of hers and she doesn't want to miss his friendship. The actress also added Gautham Karthik was also a very good friend of her.

Actress Lakshmi Menon is currently taking a break from her acting career to concentrate on her academics, Yes the actress is currently busy with her Kerala state board's plus one Examinations. Lakshmi Menon had english examination yesterday and is confident with all subjects and the result. The actress on her professional front has upcoming movies in Jigarthanda, Naan Sivappu Manithan, Sippai and Manjapai.

Actress Lakshmi Menon has been a prominent feature in recent headlines owing to the lip-lock with Vishal for Naan Sigappu Manithan. Lip-locks are indeed a common part of today's cinema but the surprise was it came from an actress who has always shied away from such glamour.

Lakshmi Menon's lip lock with Vishal for Naan Sigappu Manithan is currently the most debated topic in Kollywood. The fact that Lakshmi Menon has always shied away from such glamour and kiss scenes made the news of this steamy lip-lock go even more viral. Sources add since Laksmi Menon was initially reluctant to do the scene the Director shot the kissing scene with only few select technicians in set.

Sources further add that the scene was okayed in a single shot and Lakshmi Menon said that ‘Ennappa Orey take thana.’  This has now lead to the crew member pulling the actress leg saying she wanted more takes for the kissing scene with Vishal.

As SS Music earlier reported there were rumors that Lakshmi Menon had done a lip-lock with Vishal for Naan Sigappu Manithan.  A Source close to the film unit have now confirmed the rumors 

"It's true that director Thiru recently shot a kissing scene with Vishal and Lakshmi Menon. It is a love scene that has been aesthetically filmed. It was a very quick shot and was completed in a single take. Though Lakshmi Menon was initially reluctant, she understood that the story demanded such a scene and went ahead. The scene is very crucial and will play a key role in what happens to Vishal's character in the film." 

Apparently, the director ensured that both the actors were comfortable with the notion before going ahead to shoot it. Sources also add that the makers have ensured that the kissing scene has not been forced into the movie but rather an integral one, like the kissing scenes in Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya.

Actress Lakshmi Menon is one of the hottest prospects in Kollywood today, Every movie the actress has been a  part of have turned into blockbusters. The actress is however still in Class 11, the actress in a recent interview to The Times of India opened up on her school life, her movies and much more..

Here are some excerpts from the interview 

How is your school reacting to your actress status?

My teachers cannot believe that I am a heroine now. They still see me as their student. I am still being punished if I am not attentive during class hours. Even recently, I was made to stand outside my classroom for missing my lessons. I am not an actress to my classmates and teachers.

So, how do you manage?

I am in commerce group and I study only before my exams. My mom is a teacher at the same school, so she helps me learn the missed lessons. I have no academic pressure right now. But, I am not very keen on taking up many projects next year as I will have my board exams. But if a fantastic script comes my way, I may forget my Class 12 lessons. (laughs).

We heard that you have a certain dress code when it comes to costumes in films...

Yes, I do follow a dress code and I ensure that my costumes are neat and modest as I need to face my teachers at my school. Moreover, my fans do not like me in a modern outfit. Even on my social media page, many commented that I look good only in homely dresses.

How do you choose your scripts?

I've not listened to the scripts so far. If I feel like working on a film, I would go for it. It depends on my gut feeling, which has worked out well for me so far.

Vishal to Direct his own Love Scenes in this Movie

Actor Vishal is currently enjoying the huge success of his maiden production venture Pandiya Nadu, The actors purple patch continued when the movie's TV rights were also grabbed at Record price by Raj Tv. The actor is currently into Naan Sigappu Manithan where he once again takes a dual role as an actor and a producer. Vishal who has also plans for Directing has supposedly tried out his first take by scripting the love scenes for this upcoming movie. Director Thiru will wield the megaphone, the duo have already worked together in Samar and Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai. Lakshmi Menon plays the female lead in the movie.
