Mahesh Babu the reason why Samantha was Turned down ?

20/03/2014
There is currently a rumor going around in K'town that Samantha was the first choice for Mani Ratnam's upcoming movie but was later replaced with Shruti Haasan heeding to Mahesh Babu's decision. Tollywood insiders reported that the 'regressive' poster incident between Sam and Mahesh Babu did not go well with the actor and hence wanted Mani Ratnam to replace her.

It's worth mentioning that Samantha was also the first choice for Mani Ratnam's Kadal but was unable to take up the movie due to her skin issues and Mani Ratnam wanted to offer the role in his upcoming film to Samantha once again. However Sam in a recent media interaction said it was just a baseless rumor  “No, no one from Mani Ratnam sir’s office approached me for his next film.”

Mani Ratnam movie reportedly features Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu, Aishwarya Rai, Shruti Haasan, Fahadh Fasil and Nazriya.

Mahesh Babu Expresses his Displeasure at Samantha

16/01/2014
Tollywood Star Mahesh Babu has finally expressed his views over Samantha's "regressive tweet" about a poster of 1 Nenokkadine.

Mahesh Babu earlier did try to brush the controversy away by saying that "too much was being" made over the poster. But in a recent interview the actor finally expressed his displeasure at Samantha for posting her views on a social networking site.

"Look, Samantha knows me and my wife Namrata. If she found anything regressive about the poster she could have checked with me first. Instead she went and posted her views online. She shouldn't have done that. At least she could have tried to speak to us," said Mahesh Babu.

What's Mahesh Babu's Nenokadine about ?

10/01/2014
January 10th may be labelled as Thala Thalapathy Clash in Tamil Nadu but Tollywood Superstar Mahesh's Babu much anticipated 1 Nenokadine is also hitting the screens on the same day. Sources add that the movie is inspired from 1988's Hollywood Blockbuster Frantic.

Briefly, Mahesh visits London for a conference and loses his lover Kirti from the hotel room and rest is all about how he tracks her down and finds a big conspiracy behind it. Unable to find her after meeting a cab driver, hotel and other spots, he even begins to believe that lover was just an imagination and loses his balance of mind, but with small clue, he recovers his past. (Like in the original, as Dr. Richard Walker (Harrison Ford),a surgeon who visits Paris with his wife Sondra for a medical conference and while walker is taking a shower, his wife mysteriously disappears from their hotel room).

Sources claim that Mahesh has done a fabulous job as a desperate lover and this could go down as one of the best roles of his career after 'Okkadu', 'Athadu' .

Mahesh Babu's Reply to Samantha's Controversial Comment

2/01/2014
Last month there was a huge controversy when actress Samantha tweeted saying  "Saw a poster of a yet to be released Telugu film. Not only is it deeply regressive, but it’s point is actually that it is deeply regressive”. Though Samantha did not the name the movie poster fans realized she was talking about Mahesh Babu's Nenokkadine poster and this led to a rigorous tweet fight that lasted for few days in which Siddharth too was dragged and led to the #GetlostSamantha&Siddarth trending all over.

The latest buzz on the issue is that the star Mahesh Babu has himself come out on the regressive Poster war and has even apologized for the same. Mahesh babu stepped back and apologized, if that poster hurt the sentiments of anyone. In a recent interview to a tabloid, Mahesh opened up about the poster controversy, saying “That poster is not controversial. But there is a lyric in that song ‘Oka ganta fish Padadhaama’, and to match the lyric, they composed it that way. It might look regressive and offensive in poster, but everything would be normal when we see the song on screen. It was not intentional to hurt anyone, but its a mistake..my apologies for that”.

Samantha was Right to Criticize Mahesh Babu says this Director !

28/12/2013
Fans would still remember when how a single tweet from Samantha on Mahesh Babu poster created a huge controversy and made #GetLostSamantha&Siddharth trend in Twitter.
Now director Sekhar Kammula best known for his Happy Days movie and also the director of Kahaani remake with Nayanthara voiced in his support for Samantha in his official Facebook Page.
"Just saw the poster of 1 Nenokkadine and read what Samantha tweeted.......I share the same views....it is regressive, no doubt about it...but what is shocking is the ruckus that is being created against her.......Its her opinion and she has every right to express it...and it has nothing to do with Mahesh Babu. Its how a woman has been projected on a poster and how she felt about it.

This is not the first time we have seen posters like this or films that protray woman regressively but its heartening to see a main stream heroine react. Manam brathike unnam anna feeling ecchindi... hats off Samantha for actually starting a debate...this is good for our industry...its a great sign....
When a top heroine sees a poster and feels that women are shown regressively, it is time for all of us to think about it rather than attack her. Perhaps many women feel the same way about the way we show them in our movies..."
