It's a known fact that actor Vishal worked as an assistant director with Action King Arjun before making his acting break come in the form of Chellame. The Handsome hunk may now be a successful hero but he has time and again re-stated the fact that his dream is to a direct a film and he will doing it very soon indeed.

Vishal in a recent media interaction opened up on who he would like to play the lead role in his directorial film, Vishal said Whenever i think of my script i get a feeling that it will suit only Vijay cause he is one actor who gives lot of opportunities for new directors and i want him to be the hero of my film. Vishal also added that after Ilayathalapathy, Vijay Sethupathi is also giving chances to newcomers.

Vishal concluded stating he would like to cast Vijay and Shruti Haasan for his directorial debut.

The First Choice Hero for Naan Sigappu Manithan Was ?

Vishal's Naan Sigappu Manithan has racked up huge expectations following the impressive trailer, Now the chartbusting album has added more buzz to the movie, Vishal during the audio launch of the movie interestingly revealed that he was the not the first choice for the movie but the handsome hunk did not reveal whose Director Thiru's first choice was.

A Leading entertainment Portal has just reported that it was Complete actor Mohanlal who was supposed to do the role and he almost signed up for the movie, But once vishal conveyed his interest, Director Thiru opted for latter considering their relationship which has almost lasted for three movies in Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai, Samar and now Naan Sigappu Manithan which is currently slated for release on April 11th.

Actor Vishnu Vishal of Neer Paravai fame while speaking at the audio launch trolled Vishal for not allowing him to see Lakshmi Menon during the shoots of NSM and also added Vishal would invite him to the sets only when Lakshmi Menon was absent, Vishnu openly demanded a reply from Vishal on why he did this ?

Vishal did give an answer to Vishnu stating He wasn't protecting Lakshmi Menon but instead he was protecting Vishnu from getting arrested by his own father who is a Police Officer, Vishal comically said he knew about Vishnu and hence protected him from seeing Lakshmi Menon to avoid unwanted issues.

Lakshmi Menon talks about her Lip Lock and Clarifies if She is in love with Vishal ?

Actress Lakshmi Menon participated in the Jigarthanda pressmeet which was held yesterday, The actress active participation made up for her absence in the audio launch due to her plus one exams. Lakshmi Menon was quizzed on the famous lip lock scenes in the upcoming Naan Sigappu Manithan movie, The actress said "The Director Thiru clearly briefed me on the lip scenes and i understood it was very much needed for the script and hence i said yes. There was no reason for me to hide such Lip lock news, Yes there are some lip lock scenes in the movie said Lakshmi Menon."

When asked on the number of the kiss scenes in the movie, Lakshmi said "The number of kisses are secret and she won't reveal it now". In regard to the rumors whether she was in love with Vishal, Lakshmi Said Vishal was just a good friend of hers and she doesn't want to miss his friendship. The actress also added Gautham Karthik was also a very good friend of her.

Death Threats for Vishal, Santhanam & Nassar

Actors Santhanam, Sivakumar, Nassar and Vishal have received death threats from an organization called Nataka Thiraipada Nadigargal Madurai. The above actors all have apparently received individual letters threatening them pertaining to their involvement in the affairs for Nadigar Sangam. The letter had warned the actors the severe consequences they would face if they kept involving in the affairs of the Nadigar Sangam.

It's worth mentioning that the Nadigar Sangam had earlier asked explanation from actor Vishal for his open comments against them during the Vishwaroopam issue, Even several actors from Kollywood participated in signature campaign against the office bearers of the Nadigar Sangam.

The Pongal Box Office battle between Jilla and Veeram might have been neck to neck but Siva Karthikeyan has emerged clear winner in Pongal Television battle. Leading satellite channels like Sun Tv, Vijay Tv, Raj Tv and Zee Tamil had lined up all the latest blockbusters like Thalaivaa, Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam, Raja Rani, Pandiyanadu, Alex Pandiyan, Idharakku Dhane Asaipattai Balakumara and Desingu Raja for the long pongal weekend.

Lakshmi Menon reaction to Lip Lock with Vishal ?

Lakshmi Menon's lip lock with Vishal for Naan Sigappu Manithan is currently the most debated topic in Kollywood. The fact that Lakshmi Menon has always shied away from such glamour and kiss scenes made the news of this steamy lip-lock go even more viral. Sources add since Laksmi Menon was initially reluctant to do the scene the Director shot the kissing scene with only few select technicians in set.

Sources further add that the scene was okayed in a single shot and Lakshmi Menon said that ‘Ennappa Orey take thana.’  This has now lead to the crew member pulling the actress leg saying she wanted more takes for the kissing scene with Vishal.

Rajinikanth : Superstar's Kochadaiyaan which was scheduled to release this year missed out but Superstar's Endhiran box office collection is still the record to beat.

Kamal Haasan: After crossing several hurdles and challenges, Ullaganayagan's Vishwaroopam went on to be a massive hit grossing 30 crores in Tamil Nadu box office and counting the Bollywood and International release the collection amounts of 85 crores which makes him "The Man of the Box Office for the year 2013"

Thala Thalapathy - Ajith and Vijay 

To the question of whether it was Thala or Thalapathy the runner up to Kamal Haasan , without a shred of doubt it has to be Thala Ajith for this year. The reason being his movie Arrambam and it's collection. The movie grossed 35 crores in Tamil Nadu box office alone and add to the collections from Andhra the movie amassed a total collection of 65 crores.

From Vijay's point of view his last year release Thupakki is still his biggest success in the last 4 years which grossed a mammoth 80 crores. But this year due to several off screen issues his Thalaivaa movie failed to release on time. Though the movie had been sold for 50 crores it only collected 13 crores in Tamil Nadu box office.

After Ajith it was Surya who rocked the Box Office with his Singam 2 movie which grossed 60 crores and fetched him the third rank after Kamal Haasan and Ajith.

Chiyaan Vikram 2012 release Thandavam slightly tarnished the commercial image of the actor and this year's release David (Tamil Dubbed) failed to run in theatres even for few days. The actor however is currently spilling his heart out in Shankar' Ai which is currently slated for April 14th 2014 release.

Between STR and Dhanush who stood next to Vikram last year, STR did not have a single movie release this year but currently holds a untitled project with Pandiyaraj, Sattrendu Maruthu Vannillai with Gautham Vasudev Menon, an untitled project with Selvaraghavan and Vada Chennai with Vetrimaran and another project with Thotti Jaya director and Vaalu and Vettaimannan also being in the pipeline.

Dhanush's Bollywood debut Raanjhnaa rocked the box office and made it to the illustrious 100 crore club. But the tamil version of the movie Ambikapathy netted only 8 crores. Though Dhanush's Maryan fetched the actor critical acclaim the movie failed at the box office and his Naiyaandi was also huge let down.

Vishal after repeated failure struck gold at the box office with his Pandiya Nadu movie which amounted to 40 crores in total and his Pattathu Yaanai also did decent business with a collection of 20 crores.

Arya starred in several multi-starrer movies this year like Arrambam, Raja Rani and Settai. The actor's Raja Rani alongside Nayanthara and Jai grossed 30 crores while his Settai movie may have been a flop but still made a collection of 20 crores. Arya's much expected movie of the year Irandam Ulagam however bombed very severely at the box office.

Siva Karthikeyan had a dream run this year with all his three films  – Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga, Ethir Neechal and Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam – turning out to be blockbusters.

Vijay Sethupathi tasted  huge success in Soodhu Kavvum and  moderate success in Idharkuthane Asaipattai Balakumara. The actor's Soodhu Kavvum is considered by many as the best movie of the year.

Jayam’ Ravi's Aadhi Bhagavan which opened to huge expectations failed to impress at the box office.

Jiiva had two releases in David and Endrendrum Punnagai, the later is well on its way to be massive blockbuster.

Who's the heroine & Director for Vishal's Next ?

Actor Vishal who made a huge comeback of sorts with Pandiya Nadu is currently into Naan Sigappu Manithan and the actor's next film has been one of the highly discussed topic in industry today. There has been huge buzz recently that Vishal's next is with Director Hari for which he has also roped in Shruti Haasan. 

A reliable sources reveals that, "Hari is in the final stages of scripting the film, and both Vishal and the director are working on locking the cast and crew. They have approached Shruti Haasan, but things are yet to be firmed up. Vishal is presently shooting for Naan Sigappu Manithan and an announcement will be made soon regarding his next project."

Actor Vishal revealed to the Times of India that "It's too early to talk about the film now; we're planning to make an official announcement, with details on the cast and crew, on January 14. I will be producing this film under my banner, and it will go on floors on April 14. We are planning this film as a Deepavali release — October 23, 2014."

• On his Relationship with Varalakshmi Sarathkumar - Vishal said he has a very deep friendship with Varu and he knows her right from her childhood but he really got to know her in last 4 years. Vishal added he liked her very much. To the question of if this Friendship would go to marriage, Vishal said he his not ready for marriage for now and he seriously doesn't know when he'll get married.

Huge Controversy Surrounding Pandiya Nadu Movie !

Kollywood's been buzzing for the past 2 days about a huge controversy surrounding the blockbuster Pandiya Nadu. Sources reported that Pandiya Nadu movie story belonged to Bhuvana Rajan who was a former assistant of Suseenthiran. Sources added the Director avoided Bhuvana Rajan for sometime and after the release of the movie deposited a reasonable amount of money into the bank account of the former assistant director.

Times of India has come up with detailed explanation expressing both of their views in a detailed interview. Here is the experts from the interview

Bhuvana Rajan

I'm from Andipatti in Madurai, and run a literary magazine there. I met Suseenthiran when he was shooting for Azhagar Samiyin Kuthirai, and became close with SR Prabhakaran, who was assisting him. After a couple of months, one of Suseenthiran's assistants called me up and said that he was looking for some good stories. So, I met Suseenthiran and narrated the scripts of two of the seven stories that I had penned. One of them was a revenge drama on sand theft. He then told me that he had started work on a film and that I could stay back and work with him. For three months, I worked hard over scripts. Subsequently, when I happened to find out that he was discussing scripts with an entirely new team, and I quizzed him, only to be told me to stay within my limits. Last Deepavali, Leninbarathi opted out of Suseenthiran's team because he wasn't acknowledged for his contribution to Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer. And since I knew Suseenthiran because of Lenin, I too left. Later, I got busy finding producers to back my script. Suddenly, Suseenthiran called me just before Deepavali and said that his Pandiya Nadu was releasing. One of his assistants also called me a day before the festival to ask for my account number, saying Suseenthiran was gifting cash to all his ADs. But the next day, I was in for a shock as I found out that his film was directed by combining two of my scripts! I'm very upset that he has lifted elements from two of my scripts for his film. I've been trying to reach him ever since, and as a last resort, went to the press. I haven't registered any complaint, but I decided to speak about it because I don't want anyone else to get cheated by him.

Suseenthiran

The first time I met him (Bhuvana Rajan) was when I was scouting for locations to shoot Azhagar Samiyin Kuthirai. He was not part of my team, but was helping my location manager. He told me then that he has done some short films and short stories and wanted to join me as an AD. I was telling my team that he seemed sincere and that we must call on him when we start our next project. Later, I started work on a period script and was looking for someone who could help me get literary references. I'm not an avid reader, and asked him (Bhuvana Rajan) if he could help me on this project. I gave him money so that he could buy books. However, the project was dropped, and I started work on other film. Now, he claims that the story of Pandiya Nadu is his and that I changed certain elements — sand quarry into stone quarry as the location, used a bus instead of a lorry to bump off the brother, and hired killers from his script to something else — to give it a new twist. The only input he gave me is the fact that in Theni district, people tie a person's hands and legs together and push him inside a well to seek revenge. I was not in touch with him since the time he went back to his native town, saying there were some issues in his family. He sent me a text 10 days before Deepavali, saying 'please call me sir'. He told me that he had no money to even buy clothes for his kids. I immediately asked my manager to get his account number and deposited ` 25, 000, an amount that I gave as a gift to my other ADs as well. I'm shocked that he has levied such false allegations against me. I'm upset that he is seeking publicity by using my name. I'm going to file a complaint against him with the Directors' Union.

Huge Controversy as Vikranth says Ilayathalapathy Laam Illa

Actor Vikranth who has made quite a comeback in Vishal's Pandiya Nadu has sparked up a huge controversy with his comments in the success meet of the movie which was recently held in Chennai. When a reporter asked him to compare the gesture done by Vishal to that of Vijay, the Actor said "After his parents., His wife and his kids, The person who matters the most to him is Vishal and Ilayathalapathy laam Illa".

Vikranth who made his debut in Karkka Kasadra is actually a cousin of Ilayathalapathy Vijay and hence several references to Vijay was made in his debut movie. However the actor career then took a downward slide and was totally out of the radar. But Vishal who has been struggling himself to deliver a decent hit believed in his friend Vikranth and gave him the opportunity in his maiden production venture. Actor Vishal hasn't stopped there, in his next production venture Vikrath will playing the lead role.

Actor Vishal is currently enjoying the huge success of his maiden production venture Pandiya Nadu, The actors purple patch continued when the movie's TV rights were also grabbed at Record price by Raj Tv. The actor is currently into Naan Sigappu Manithan where he once again takes a dual role as an actor and a producer. Vishal who has also plans for Directing has supposedly tried out his first take by scripting the love scenes for this upcoming movie. Director Thiru will wield the megaphone, the duo have already worked together in Samar and Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai. Lakshmi Menon plays the female lead in the movie.
